If you’re in the financial services profession, you juggle a lot.

You've got clients, targets, strategies, and somehow in all of that, you need to remember to look after yourself too. Here's the thing – your own mental health and wellbeing should be as important as the financial wellbeing you’re crafting for clients.

What to know more? Let’s jump right in!

    1. Schedule ‘you’ time

First off, let’s get this straight: 'Me' time isn’t selfish – it's essential. With the pace we’re going at, our brains need that regular reset. Whether it's a quiet coffee break, a brisk walk around the block, or just shutting the office door and chilling to some country tunes (you know I love 'em!), make sure you carve out a few moments daily just for you.

    1. Communicate, communicate, communicate

Let's face it – the business world can sometimes feel like you're holding the weight of the world on your broad shoulders (in my case, very broad!). But remember, you’re not alone. Talk to your peers, share the highs and lows. Hey, even chat with me if you fancy! Letting it out can not only provide perspective but can also build fantastic relationships.

    1. Digital detox

Alright, this might sound a tad scary, but bear with me. While technology is a massive boon, constantly checking emails and market updates can fry your brain. Set specific times during the day to check in and stick to them. Even better, set one day of the week where you go tech-free. Trust me; the world won't crumble, but your stress might.

    1. Learn something new

Just because we’re all about the business doesn’t mean we shouldn’t flex those brain muscles elsewhere. Pick up a new hobby, dive into a book, or even attend a seminar on something you've never considered before (like, oh, say, public speaking!). It offers a refreshing change of pace and perspective.

    1. Celebrate the small wins

Look, I get it. We're always chasing the big goals. But life's too short to wait for those 'only' moments. Celebrate the small wins: That client who finally agrees to a proposal. The strategy that worked out perfectly. Even just finally clearing out that pesky email backlog. Revel in those moments: they fuel the journey.

In essence, your work might revolve around numbers, but your wellbeing isn't something that can be quantified. It's invaluable.
